    In a longer blog at Sony Ericsson’s official blog explains Sumit Malhotra, global marketing manager for Xperia X10, today his views on why they chose to launch their first androidtelefon with the now slightly aged Android 1.6. He highlights the benefits of this and believe that they are their own developed economies have tackled parts of the weaknesses of 1.6 which has a direct correlation with 2.1.

    Furthermore, he points out that he is aware that the 2.1-platform entails certain improvements, which of course is why an update will eventually, but that he was in talks with mobile operators who have been concerned by Sony Ericsson’s decision to launch the phone with 1.6 has been able to demonstrate that 1.6 Time and Media Cape stands up well compared to Android 2.1 of the standard version.
